Airfare (Flight Cost)

  • Depends on airport of departure/arrival and airline used.
  • Horses usually fly via cargo with specialized equine transport companies.
  • Shared containers (3 horses per box) are more cost-effective than private stalls.

Quarantine

Geldings: $3000 to $4750 for 3 days

Require CEM (Contagious Equine Metritis) testing

Mares: ~$2,500 – $4,500 (2-3 weeks).
Stallions: ~$6,000 – $10,000 (up to 1 month).

Pre-Purchase Exam (Optional but Recommended)
